Another Facebook Tab for P&G/Wella Professionals TrendVision 2013; this one’s a bit more advanced as it allows users to upload their photo entries for the contest directly through Facebook.

The biggest concern with online forms like this is file validation and security.  While CAPTCHA codes are all the rage these days, we found a novel new “click and drag” authentication test to use.

For a user to authenticate that they are a real person and not a Spambot or Script, they must drag a small square on the left, to a large square on the right with a matching colour.

The authentication tool, aside from being a refreshing alternative, is also very handy in the sense that it hides the ‘Submit’ button until the user has successfully proven that they are not a spambot.  The authentication process has several states beyond the ‘base’ state shown above.

  1. When hovering over the squares, a series of instructions scroll in from the right hand side.
  2. After the user has successfully dragged the correct square over its larger counterpart, the entire thing dissolves to reveal the ‘Submit’ button.

The entire process is also touchscreen ready so that it can be accessed by all types of devices.

As with the previous tabs this year, we made it fully responsive so that Wella representatives could use their mobile devices and tablets to get contestants interested and signed up when visiting salons in person.

In addition to the TrendVision tab, we also coded up a quick clone of the bus shelter ads that Wella is running in Toronto, inviting users to attend approved salons for a free colour treatment. A lot like the TrendVision 2013 tab, this one was also generated to be responsive and the code streamlined and modernized as much as possible.
